Hi   Greetings from Ampstek  I would like to share the job description of a Contract opportunity for Vdot Linux Admin  NO OPT (PASSPORT NUMBER IS MANDATORY)    Job Title: Vdot Linux Admin Location: Clifton forge,VA Duration: Longterm   Job Description   The LINUX Engineer performs day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems and servers. Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software solutions of varying complexities. Plans and implements the modernization of servers. Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules. Conducts virtual hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.   Responsibilities   The LINUX Engineer will:   •            Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems that may be across multiple systems and subsystems requiring in depth knowledge of the highly sophisticated Data Center environment and IT infrastructure •            Documents standard operating procedures and recommend updates to optimize service delivery in alignment with best practices •            Documents and implements change requests; evaluate change requests for potential enterprise wide impacts •            Performs upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages within the LINUX systems   Required Skills:   •            Experience in design, engineering, implementing and supporting LINUX (CentOS) servers and enterprise applications •            Experience in building, configuring and optimizing enterprise Linux servers in a VMware ESXi environment. •            Hands-on experience with LINUX CentOS servers in a VMware cluster environment. •            Experience of Enterprise Storage (SAN) and Virtualization (VMware). •            Experience setting up and upgrading LAMP web service stacks, hardening Linux distributions with the best practices •            Familiar with Bash/Perl/Python or any other language for performing automated tasks   Desired Skills: •            Basic network troubleshooting in the Linux environment, iptables, tcpdump, port scanning,…  •            Experience with any cloud computing, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or Docker •            Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP •            Hands on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB or any other database •            Proficient in analytical project planning, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written   Experience •            Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, specializing in LINUX operating systems     Required Skills:* CentOS Servers Desired Skills: FOG TACACS Administration.
