JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, installation, and configuration of infrastructure technologies and next generation technologies. May be involved with complex system integration testing and evaluation.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 8+ year of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
Requires in-depth level of technical knowledge within a job area and working knowledge of other technical areas
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications :
Candidate will have seven or more years of enterprise experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Server virtualization using Cisco UCS, VMware or Hyper-V. Operating system installation/migrations on-prem/cloud, security controls, DNS and DFS. Experience with multi-factor solutions, Expertise in cloud services ( Azure/AWS)
Manage host environment inclusive of web servers, VMWare, Cisco UCS, Azure/AWS, database servers, SAN, NAS, Blades etc to ensure apt tuning plus capacity.
Knowledge of all infrastructure technologies (compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages and solutions, virtual and cloud including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS); infrastructure management tools and monitoring tools; solution sizing for hardware/software platforms; industry standard security requirements and designs.
Troubleshooting; installing software; advanced design, maintenance and repair of servers; applying creative solutions to business problems to ensure business needs are most effectively met; advanced information system configuration management
Ability to developing and write technical documentation; evaluate and test emerging technologies.
Key Job Accountabilities:
1. Performs the most complex duties of the technical infrastructure team
2. Leads architecture, design, analysis, implementation, and operations of infrastructure
3. Develops, recommends, and implements complex infrastructure solutions
4. Leads the planning, designing, and execution of testing
5. Ensures infrastructure scalability and security within the organization
6. Reviews plans to manage the frequency of support package/patch application
7. Applies highly developed specialized knowledge and skills in Infrastructure to define improvements for increased reliability and performance
8. Evaluates and tests emerging technologies
9. Having DevOps knowledge and tools is plus
10. infrastructure scripting knowledge like Ansible, terraform is plus
11. Knowledge of container/ Kubernetes deployment in virtual environment is plus
