Role : Senior Oracle DBA (infrastructure DBA)
Location : Oaks, PA
• Maintain & Monitor production systems to prevent unplanned downtime and coordinate outages to perform planned maintenance.
• Manage and maintain Enterprise data warehouses (EDW)
• Manage data movement tools and technologies such as Golden Gate.
• Manage and maintain Oracle infrastructure including RAC cluster environments and EXADATA machines
• Manage Oracle database using DataGuard
• Perform database administration tasks such as install, secure, patch, upgrade, troubleshoot, and configuration management of Oracle 9i/10g/11g/12c databases in standalone installation or clustered environment using Oracle's Real Application Clusters or other clustering/failover mechanisms
• Operation, maintenance of software/network configurations of Unix, Linux and Solaris operating systems as they relate to the operation of the aforementioned Oracle products.
• Work closely with other IT team members, including system administrators and database administrators.
• Will have primary responsibility for supporting customer and internal databases and participate in on-call rotation to ensure business continuity.
• Setup, test, implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.
• Assist with customer deployments including understanding application capabilities and functionality as they relate to the underlying RDBMS.
• Assist in planning and implementing migrations of databases
• Track database changes using change & configuration management tools.
• Refresh Oracle instances for Test, QA and I-stripes environments.
• Expertise in Database SQL Tuning and Instance Tuning with solid understanding on Oracle AWR and Oracle Dynamic views.
• Identify & troubleshooting of Long running queries and remediation
Requirements
• 12 plus years of solid Oracle Database Administration experience as an Enterprise level Infrastructure DBA in Linux & Java/J2EE platform.
• Extensive hands on experience in installation, patching, upgrading, configuration, management and trouble-shooting Oracle Databases with Real Application Clusters on Unix, Red hat Linux and Sun Solaris systems
• Extensive experience in Golden Gate
• Solid Experience with database backup and recovery
• Extensive experience in Data Guard
• Extensive experience in managing Enterprise level data warehousing (EDW) solutions and technologies in a High availability environment.
• Extensive experience in Oracle RAC environments and clusters. Solid Experience in Oracle 11g, 12c, RAC and Data Guard
• Excellent knowledge of Linux O/S
• Excellent knowledge and some experience in Oracle EXADATA machine.
• Expertise in Database SQL Tuning and Instance Tuning with solid understanding on Oracle AWR and Oracle Dynamic (V$) views.
• Identify & troubleshooting of Long running queries and remediation
• Working Knowledge of ITIL processes such as incident, Problem and change management
• Working Knowledge of ITSM tool such as Service Now.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and scheduling and automation platform Control M.
• Automation oriented mindset with knowledge of tools such as Shell scripting and Ansible etc.
• Solid Performance tuning experience of Large databases is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication and must have worked in large DBA teams. Must possess experience working in highly challenging and fast paced production and multitude of lower environments.
• Must be a team player and possess excellent inter personal and inter team skills.
