Big Data Engineer (SPARK/ Python or Scala)
Location: Wilmington, Delaware
Duration: 6-12 months+
Term: Contract

Interview Process:
·         Online Glider Test
·         60 minutes interview (video)

      Required Skills (5+ years):
o    Apache Spark
o    Python OR Scala
o    AWS (S3, EC2 EMR, Lambda), would consider Azure or Google cloud experience.
Data Modernization efforts for RDT (Retail & Direct Tech LOB), moving from legacy to serverless with apache spark, lambda, scala
Everything is in cloud so need to know AWS S3, EC2, RDS, etc
Migrating hundreds of thousands of jobs
Day to Day:
Head down data engineers
Look at current state, have design discussions around modernization and then start coding (server less, Apache Spark on EMR, etc)
End to end CI/CD pipeline experience with Jenkins
NOT looking for Hadoop only types
If someone did native Java in a data centric role, they would consider that
Job Description:
We are looking for savvy Data Engineers to join our growing team to build a modernized Data Ecosystem. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, modernizing our data ecosystem with open source technologies as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.
The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products.
The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.
