Description:

Looking for experts in AWS implementation experience

Designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
Performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications.
Develops specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.
Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in their own job discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines
Leads projects or work streams within broader projects
Accountable for work of self and sometimes others, provides process and standards advice in area of specialty
Works independently, receives minimal guidance
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience



ROLE SUMMARY AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and advocates EA principles and articulates value proposition of architecture to technology partners
Manages and continuously improves the design and implementation of architecture processes and artifacts
Ensures projects engage architecture early and often and architecturally significant projects review key design decisions with departmental architecture review boards
Ensures decisions around architecture are made and deviations from standards are properly identified, addressed, and communicated. Escalates to the Principal Architects and Senior Managers as necessary
Participates and leads reviews of projects that are in flight. Works closely with technical leads of projects contributing solutions to the project's most challenging problems with the ability to be hands on as needed
Ensures that all individual solution architecture artifacts and changes are documented as per process standards and stored in EA Library to facilitate compliance, organization, and access
Coordinates with other enterprise architects as necessary for solution architecture
Takes control of complex or vague problems and steps through them in a rational way
Balances tactical vs. strategic trade-offs when making decisions or proposing solutions
Flexible in his or her thinking; able to evolve a solution when additional information or ideas are presented
Mentors junior members of the team
Identifies when junior engineers need help and provides it in a positive way that promotes confidence.
Proactively helps team members/makes suggestions to improve practices
Is able to lead a small team on a specific project or task



REQUIREMENTS
BS/MS degree in a technical discipline and 4+ years of progressive software engineering and architecture experience (8+ years preferred)
Hands-on AWS implementation experience
Experience with migrating on-prem applications to cloud
Stays abreast of industry trends and technologies and knows when/how/if to apply them appropriately
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new products and technologies and how to apply them
Understands common architecture frameworks and models
Understands, and is able to apply, meta-models, taxonomies, and ontologies
Proactively identifies architectural weaknesses and recommends appropriate solutions
