Position Overview for the Linux Administrator:

Installing / Modifying Linux Kernels
Ensure that environments are backed up and restored to previous versions
Install, configure, maintain, administer, upgrade & support Linux environment
Create documentation to support standard operating procedures and ongoing maintenance
Work with other departments for implement technical solutions
Work with external vendors for hardware/software upgrades
Take escalations from the desktop support group for complex technical issues
Required Skills for the Linux Administrator:

6+ Months of professional experience as a Linux Administrator
Novell Suse Linux experience is highly preferred
Experience with a scripting language, such as Bash or Python
Linux Certifications nice to have
Bachelors degree nice to have
