Role:
- This is a data migration project, Data from client's legacy system need to be migrated to Salesforce (internally called as ‘Madison’)
- As Tech BA, I need to create Data Mapping logic to transform data from Source to Target system.
- Perform data analysis to ensure data is of good quality and correct fields are mapped between Source and Target.
Responsibilities:
- Use Confluence tool: To capture the Requirement based on interaction with Product Manager. This requirement needs to cover both Functional and Technical aspect of the requirement.
- Interact with SME, Developer to understand how data resides at Source system.
- Prepare data extract from MS-SQL and give walkthrough to PM team to explain details of current data. This will help them to understand what specific data need to be migrated.
- Track all these activities as ‘Task’ in JIRA tool.
- Based on data confirmation from PM team, create ‘Data Mapping’ document, this will help ETL team to extract the correct data from Source and apply the logic mentioned in Mapping doc to transform it to Salesforce.
- Attend Issue Triage call – Based on previously implemented rules QA/End user would have identified issue. I will be attending this call to check if there is any new issue, if so need to provide requirement/ data mapping details to fix this issue.
- Upcoming task
- Project is about reconciliation process, that is once data is migrated from Source to Target on a periodic basis it is necessary to monitor if the data from Source are migrated correctly to Target system or not.
- For this Jefferies is using ‘Python’, so for no hands-on experience on this. But attended a session, that explained at high level what reconciliation process is about and how it is planned to be done.
- Everything at client are process bounded, Confluence & JIRA tools are used significantly to track the progress.
