(1) Job Summary for Sr. QA
· The Senior QA Engineer is a hands-on position responsible for leading projects, designing/developing test cases and conducting tests on various platforms.
(2) Key Responsibilities
· Must have strong Manual & Automation testing experience
· Experience working with Selenium understanding of Automation Test Scripts, API testing etc.
· Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
· Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
· Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
· Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
· Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
· Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
· Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
· Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
· Monitor debugging process results
· Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
· Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
· Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
· Works closely with the application architect to develop a solid testing solution, working towards the future state of the application architecture
· Works collaboratively in a team-based agile environment with other technical staff, business owners, and subject matter experts that follow the industry standard Scrum methodologies
· Assists in the design and maintenance of test cases
· Write test cases, execute test cases, create and run Manual Test cases
· Working cross-functionally with the architect(s), development team, and other business partners
· Design and implement Functional, Integration, System End to End and Regression tests
· Debug and perform root cause analysis to identify corrective actions
· Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)
· Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites to meet business needs with respect to functionality and other quality goals
· Work closely with scrum team members to improve quality through the entire SDLC
· Write and maintain test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on specifications and requirements
· Execute manual and automated tests and identify, communicate, and document discrepancies encountered during the testing process
· Enter, review and update software defects in defect tracking database
· Examines test logs and investigates any faults found during test runs
· Logs issues found in software under test
· Works closely with other team members to gather automated testing requirements
· Mentor team members as and when required
· Perform other duties as assigned
(2) Competencies – Technical / Functional and Managerial
Mandatory Functional/Technical :
· 4+ years of experience in Manual Testing
· Experience in Analyzing Requirements and come up with Business Test Scenarios
· Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
· Strong experience with all flavors of black box testing
· Knowledge on Web services and Soap UI is a must
· Knowledge on Automation tools for Web applications
· Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
· Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is must
· Experience in mentoring Jr resources is must
· Experience in Test Planning, Test Strategy, Test Metrics is Must
· Experience in Test management tools, Agile Project management tools, Defect Tracking tools like Quality Center, Rally, Jira
· Knowledge on any Development languages
· Experience in analyzing metrics, identify dysfunctions, and make recommendations to senior management
Preferable Skills:
· Good understanding of QA Methodology and strong ‘hands on’ experience developing test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing that include automated, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements
· Experience with source code revision control systems GIT and SVN
· Tools and technologies such as: Selenium Web Driver, Java
· Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio, and SharePoint
· Excellent team building skills, including cross-functional team building
· Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis Experience of cross training
