Summary:
As the Network Operations Domain Senior Solutions Engineer, the role will play a major role in network projects by defining and designing solutions, procedures and detailed documentation for network projects, including voice, video, and core networking infrastructure.
Minimum Educational Requirements and Experience Equivalencies:
• CCNP and/or CCIE certified or 10+ years of Network relevant experience
• In-depth knowledge of Network Devices/Assets
• In-depth knowledge of gathering and defining network project requirements, developing, implementing or reviewing network drawings, network wirings, network engineering architecture and engineering design
• In-depth knowledge of network asset installations - routers, switches, WAP, firewalls, MDF/IDF designs, wiring, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of performing network upgrades, troubleshooting and root cause analysis methods
• In-depth knowledge of ITIL process areas as it pertains to Network domain items and Service Now tool
• Experience with Cisco Nexus 3k/9k product line, Cisco 3850 switches, Cisco ASR routers, Cisco ISE, Cisco wireless, F5 LTM, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint Firewalls
• Experience with Network connections to Cloud vendors, e.g. Amazon, Azure
To accomplish this, the role will:
• Recommend advancements in Network Domain, new concepts around DataCenter of the Future, softwarization leveraged by Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud & Edge Computing
• Obtain customer requirements and create project plans and time schedules working with project managers as required
• Provide oversight and technical supervision to network administrators team members involved to take project to successful completion
• Create, evaluate and document procedures for existing and new systems
• Provide technical operation consultation to customers and technical staff to design and implement network infrastructure solutions and improvements
• Assist with budget expenditures by pricing complete solutions that are suggested and prioritizing purchasing needs; analyzing performance of suggested hardware and software for the implementations
• Ensure proper understanding of technical information to staff and customers alike
• Work with budget and management staff to clarify rationale for technical decisions and help educate them on unfamiliar technology concepts so they can understand the basis for the decisions
• Determine the most cost-effective and efficient means to achieve the objectives of IT and provide recommendation to management
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Drives transformational IT process or technology changes of high complexity. May involve complex new business processes, development and introduction of new vendor partners or providers, and/or introduction of new technology, as required to align with architectural direction for all domains
• Coordinates efforts of engineers
• This role will work with peers that our Domain Engineers (Compute, Storage, Middleware, Integration, Database, ITSOM/ITIL, etc.)
• Role will service the Network and Unified Communications domain team and work with Admins on that team to further advancements in the domain
