Job Title: Tableau Administrator
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: 6 + months contract
Interview: Phone then Skype
Description:
- This is more of a “platform administration team”
- One of the key function this year is to migrate Tableau to AWS
- This is a true Tableau Administrator role. Not looking for a developer. Manager has also talked to candidates previously who might call themselves Admin/Developers but are really just doing development work.
- The other main function in addition to Tableau Administration is Production Support
- Currently using version 2018.2 but upgrading to 2019 at some point this year. Manager wasn’t too demanding here but thinks the candidate should be up to date on latest versions
- Since a function of this role is production support there is a rotation piece to this job. Once every 6-7 weeks they will need to be the primary support person after hours
- Preference is candidates who can interview in-person. However will hire off the video if needed.
Whoever is hired though would need to be onsite 100% of the time.
The client is seeking a Systems Administrator I to be responsible for the administration of core systems as well as monitoring and repair of high performance computing systems. Ensures consistent and reliable operation including enterprise servers and network infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides wide ranging system administration in a multi-platform environment
Responsible for general systems administration tasks including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, urgent system patching
Writes and implements scripts to automate tasks
Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware components that are problematic
Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, network disruption awareness and predefined key processes
Reviews system logs, application logs and security logs
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
5-7 years’ experience required
Proven work experience as a system or network administrator
Specialized:
• Perform installation, migration and upgrade of Tableau Servers and Desktops under High Availability scenario
• Perform performance analysis of existing Tableau Servers and make Best Practice recommendations
• Configure options like SSL, SSO, AD , proxy etc. on the Tableau Server.
• Provide Level 2 support to user community on various Tableau Server and Desktop issues
• Excellent understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Load Balancer and Network firewall
