Position Specific Description
We are seeking an experienced Java full stack developer to work on some of our latest projects. The position will interact with multiple business units and will work in all phases of the software development life cycle. Providing software development support for existing products is also required, including periodic after hours support for urgent issues. Qualified candidates will spend the majority of their time developing software that helps NextEra provide innovative forecasting and optimization solutions. Candidates should also possess the ability to be a technical lead of a software component or module.

Required Skills:

• BS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience in full stack Java development and other frameworks in cloud environment
• Experience using Git for source code management
• Experience working with NoSQL databases
• Experience using the Agile Scrum development process

Job Duties & Responsibilities
 

• Develops software projects/products using Java and other software products/frameworks
• Conducts system testing and codes unit tests and support features
• Documents technical requirements and other technical documentation
• Works with product team to refine product requirements
• Collaborates on high level software design projects
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
