Hi, Hope you are doing well, We have urgent requirement for you, please find details below… Role: PostgreSQL DBA Location: Baltimore, MD Duration: 12+ months Description: Our Client has an opening for an Information Engineer to provide support for database operations and design improvements for a portfolio of PostgreSQL and Java based on-line & batch applications  Duties & Responsibilities include:  · Analysis and evaluation of user business problems and the development of system recommendations to meet requirements. · Analyzes current and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems. · Coordination with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, execution of user acceptance, and may coordinate testing and system controls. · Collaboration with the application teams to identify and deploy innovative database solutions that increase scalability and performance. Recommend improvements to existing database designs for more efficient data management and access. · Creating, deploying, and executing database scripts and stored procedures as well as in creating, maintaining and optimizing application database table, triggers, materialized views etc.  · Assessing and enhancing database capacity and performance. · Maintaining the central repository of all data architecture artifacts including data dictionaries, database administration procedures, scripts, and security controls. · Maintaining and testing application and database backup and recovery strategies. · Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem analysis, and resolution. · Monitor database health (e.g. proactive and reactive responses, transaction activity and utilization). Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 - 8 years of relevant professional experience; or 4 - 6 years of relevant professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.  · Demonstrated experience with developing logical and physical data models data/information exchange models, standards, or tools; · Solid experience with PostgreSQL Database Administration.  · Experience in evaluating data architecture & data models, recommending change, and communicating recommendations to the program team.  · Good verbal and written communications skills.
