In considering candidates, time is of the essence, so please respond ASAP Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: 6+ Months Employment Type: Contract Job Description: - The resources must have hands on technical experience in delivering data engineering solutions using data lake technology
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in implementing data and analytics projects. Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred. Exceptions can be made case to case
- Insurance, Health care and/or Financial Services experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Mandatory skills: - Experience with Hadoop tools – PySpark, Syncsort, Hive, Impala, Pig, Sqoop, Hue, Spark, etc., and these are mandatory requirement Experience with Cloudera is mandatory, however experience with other distributions will be considered, depending on person’s expertise and skill levels.
- Experience with Hadoop, relational databases and SQL, ETL development, data validation and testing in any of the domains - Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, building the Data Lake, using Data Lake for data analysis.
Additional skills - Additional skills preferred (not mandatory) are Python, Docker and Dakota may be required, but we allow sufficient learning time for these skills, if the person has the primary skills are present.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, a must as there will be significant collaboration with the business and IT
- Familiarity with collaborative development workflows (e.g., GitHub, Microsoft VSTS) is needed
