Role: QA Automation Lead
Location: San Diego or Mountain View, CA
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities
- Engaging with the customer to gather functional requirements, develop technical specifications, and plan implementation/release details
- Designing/developing software (front-end and back-end), prototypes, and/or proofs of concept
- Understanding the implications of security and data protection
- Building automation and self-service tooling that improves development productivity
- Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems
- Roughly 70-85% hands-on coding
- Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
- Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results
- Contribute to the design and architecture of the project; Collaborate and contribute back to other projects and teams as needed.
- Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
Skills
- 6+ years of experience developing web, software, or mobile applications
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
- Required: strong experience with Java development; some experience with JavaScript
- Required: 2+ years of experience running web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP in AWS
- Required: Knowledge of Git for code versioning
- Highly Desired: experience with Spring Boot and Cloud Formation
- Solid communication skills: demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong understanding of the software design/architecture process
- Experience with full SDLC including unit test, integration test, release deployment and product support
Preferred Experience:
- Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, consumer facing web or mobile applications
- Familiar with the development challenges inherent with highly scalable and available web applications
- Demonstrated contribution to open source technologies
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with customer driven software development
