Role: Senior Oracle DBA 

 

Location: Oaks, PA (Initially remote for 2 months)



Experience Required: 9+ years


The successful candidate will be working as a senior technical support resource responsible for the Oracle production and development database environments. The individual will be required to participate in multi-team project participation working with the GTC, business partners, third party vendors, and development teams. Tasks include day-to-day operation, break/fix, upgrade, new build as well as providing for detailed technical support through research, analysis, and resolution of issues. The individual also needs to be able to work in a fast-paced multifaceted environment. 


Major Accountabilities: 

•           Fulfil virtual and physical server provisioning requests

•           Plan and manage SAN storage capacity requirements  

•           Run & monitor DB maintenance routines

•           Plan and manage backup and recovery procedures

•           Controlling access privileges and permissions with a close attention to security

•           Writing database documentation (standards, procedures, scripts)

•           Manage and maintain established DB standards Position Requirements 

•           Successful leadership of projects

•           Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident and change management)

•           Working knowledge of data processing concepts and financial industry/banking operations practices

•           Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, languages, and environments 

•           Provide technical expertise to development and deployment teams on integration/configuration of supporting infrastructure

•           Work with development resources and coordinate upgrades in a fast-paced environment

•           Ability to manage time, projects, and work priorities

•           Install, configure, and administer Oracle servers, including the design, configuration and operation of n-node clusters, data recovery, and user/group/role definition

•           Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle RAC & HA

•           Implement patches, updates, and fixes as necessary following established Change Management processes

•           Coordinate with the Storage team in configuration of provisioned storage resources

•           Coordinate with the Network team in configuration of provisioned data communication services

•           Provide input to and follow standards and best practices as defined by the vendor

•           Working experience with replication technologies like Oracle Streams, CDC or Golden Gate

•           A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of IT and Oracle database administration

•           Develop scripts/utilities to automate repetitive tasks, i.e., backups, refreshes, failover

•           Expert knowledge of Oracle database.
