Sr.Scrum Master

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Scrum Master to establish, lead and drive the value delivery for a new product development team. This rollishing and driving a program from Sprint 0, aligning with business stakeholders, partnering with cross-functional partners, and owning technical execution to achieve successful value delivery. The daily application of agile and lean principles, championing scrum practices, coaching & training team members on Agile methodology, and leading continuous improvement to build high performing teams are key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership building multiple high-performing Agile teams, coaching team members in the execution of the practices and responsibilities of their individual roles and as a team together
Champion the adoption and drive improvement of Scrum practices on direct and indirect teams, setting appropriate direction
Facilitate increment & sprint planning sessions, daily scrum, backlog refinement, and sprint retrospective meetings.
Build a trusting, safe environment where problems are raised with an emphasis on problem solving and team psychological safety
In partnership with the Product Ownership team, monitor the health and planning of the sprint backlog and prioritizations of epics, features and stories as part of the cadence for regular delivery of value to the organization.
Document and lead remediation efforts and removal of impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the blocker
Consistently demonstrate a bias for action with technical aptitude to deliver customer value
Collaborate with the Agile Coaching organization to maintain accountability and compliance with the client defined Agile delivery methodology
Leverage Jira and Confluence to elicit and define business and technical epics, features and stories
Provide high level team readouts for senior leadership
Build great partnerships and relationships with globally distributed cross-functional partners (e.g. Business, Product, Technology, Design, Architecture, Legal, Compliance, et al.)
Assure adherence to banking audit and regulatory practices in the completion of delivered assets to bank and customer users, ensuring full compliance with corporate standards

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Finance, Banking or other related field
Experience establishing and driving transformation and migration initiatives while addressing technology and cultural challenges
Experience working on Data Vulnerability and Risk management teams, preferably in a financial/banking organization, that deliver systems that ensure data and program confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Demonstrable experience with establishing an Agile practice from ground zero.
Previous experience with coaching business and technology team members through the adoption of Agile practices.
Previous experience with Agile collaboration tools e.g. Jira and Confluence
Experience organizing and executing team training and mentoring
Experience running distributed Agile teams
Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least five years for a software development team utilizing Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Experience with XP, Kanban
Experience with coaching on agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Specific Requirements:

Experience taking an organization through a transformation and/or migration process while addressing technology and cultural challenges
Experience establishing and building an Agile engagement from Sprint 0/Ground Zero
Ability to the bring a new team together while setting direction for the team
Senior resource who can drive the team to success

Certifications [preferred]

Certified Scrum Master (CSM)/ Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
Certified Scrum Product Owner
