Product Owner Role for the Distribution and Transportation areas (This is an IT-focused role)
Location: REMOTE Opportunity( Client is based out in Goodlettsville TN)
Duration: Long Term
KEY NOTE: Must have previous experience within Distribution space, as that kind of knowledge typically leads to knowledge of the Transpo side of the house, and not the other way around
-Please note: Candidates without Distribution backgrounds will not be in consideration
-Specific Transportation exp. is a nice to have, while Distribution exp. is a must have
Role: Product Owner for Distro/Transpso Teams (This is an IT-focused role)
Environment/Culture: Team want the hire for this role to enjoy being social and having high interactivity levels with the PM's and SM's and Developers they'll partner with most often, helping to create/maintain a really strong collaborative and team-centric environment
- This hire has to hit the ground running in fostering high levels of engagement right away and closing those gaps as immediately and cohesively as possible
- The Distribution Team is further along within the Agile framework they have retrospectives, standups, have adopted lots of the facets of the environment; the Transportation Team is still quite Waterfall-oriented, still not organized in the Agile framework, and will gladly and willingly be "dragged" into more Agile actions by the person that fills this role
- That's why it's imperative that this candidate have experience with transforming teams from Waterfall to Agile processes, and be exceptionally strong and well-versed in both the Waterfall and Agile Methodologies
- The Transportation Team has never had a Product Owner, so this hire needs to have the ability to introduce the team to the benefits of Product Owner (PO) responsibilities, the viability of partnering with the PO they're assigned, and how there is a value add for following the workflows/workstreams they introduce into their spaces
- Candidates must have exceptional organizational skills (a prior Project Manager or Scrum Master that has worked their way forwards would be great!)
- Strong industry and system background, and who is able to collect requirements (sometimes with the help of a business analyst)
- A true partner with leadership/top tier organizers in helping to delineate and prioritize the work/projects at hand
- We need someone who has a strong understanding of the domain, who is able to develop relationships and bridge the gap between the business and technical sides
- Define and communicate product vision and roadmap; ensure alignment to company strategies
- Define Epics (internal tracking/logging technology), then create, manage, maintain and prioritize the product backlog on an ongoing basis
- Work with stakeholders to define Features from Epics
- Understand current and future customer needs, determine success criteria, validate solutions, and evaluate customer satisfaction
- Write and manage user stories with detailed acceptance criteria
- Ensure teams have the full context and understanding of customers and business environment to create valuable solutions
- Assess the business impact of different solutions and the trade-offs between customer needs, technology requirements and costs
- Collaborate with Release Management to determine the optimum release strategy and other fellow Product Owners to optimize Feature delivery to the customers
- Analyze and communicate customer adoption, performance, time to market, quality and other metrics to stakeholders
- Ensure product priorities have necessary funding and review cost of accepted features
- Understand how features are performing, the level of customer satisfaction, and provide suggestions for improvements
- Advanced understanding of the Agile principles and methodologies and how they're applied in workplace culture
- Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions
- In-depth knowledge of the relation between business processes and products
- Proven ability to respond to and prioritize changing demands effectively
