Automation Test Engineer
Position Requirements: -
· As an experienced Software automation test engineer, candidate should have a combination of in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance and solid understanding of the operating system software (Windows ,iOS and android)
· Knowledge of object oriented design principles.
· As an experienced automation engineer candidate should have deep knowledge of Gherkin language and writing stepdefinitions.
· Utilization of source code repositories such as Git
· Experience in manual testing.
· Deep knowledge of Typescript, Protractor and Browserstack.
· Be able to troubleshoot the errors while local and remote execution of script. Be able to update the Json packages.
· Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and Jenkins.
· Be able to work independently on automation scripting but should be able to collaborate with development team, Manual testers and Scrum master in Agile environment.
· Ability to work in an agile development environment where developers and testing personnel work closely together to ensure requirements are met.
· Candidates should possess the skill to communicate clearly and effectively.
Responsibilities: -
· Be a part of scrum team and support automation efforts as well as manual testing as a part of sprint.
· Candidate have to support manual execution of test cases during regression testing (20%).
· Primary responsibility will be to automate the functional test cases for smoke test and regression test scripts. (80%)
· Able to interpret Functional Test Cases expectations into assertions.
· Candidate should help identify defects in presentation and business layer as well as defects at the component and feature integration in all environments such as QA and Production.
· Candidates will need to define and maintain Automation test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases as well as design tools for functional testing.
· Be able to run the automation script using browserstack for parallel execution.
· Automation engineer will be responsible of monitoring the reports of nightly smoke and regression tests execution.
· Review Automation report for failure and work with Engineer or QA Lead, and apply fixes
· Generate Metrics and collect KPI for process improvements
· Making sure that automation scripts are part of Jenkins pipeline
· Create/Maintain Automation Standards and OnBoarding document for new QA Engineer and QA Automation Engineer
· Create/Update PBI for Automation team member for upcoming Sprint work
· Work with QA Analyst on Test Cases format, content and flow to help with Automation script
· Work with Architect team on technical stories related to Automation infrastructure and tool
General knowledge skills and abilities: -
· Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment and utilizing virtual machines and web on iOS and android platform.
· Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
· Experience with selenium webdrivers tools and resources
· Experience with automation testing including unit test automation frameworks
· Knowledge of JIRA tool for Requirement management and defect management.
· Knowledge of qtest for Testcase management is a plus.
· Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance Best Practices
· Working experience of Agile Methodology
· Experienced in writing Automation Script using BDD format
· Experienced using Framework/extensions : Selenium, Protractor, typescript, Chai
· Good understanding of one or more Development platforms (Android/Appium/Web etc.)
· Strong working experience using Jenkins CI/CD pipeline
· Create/Maintain Automation Guidelines for Developers
