Overview:
The Software Engineer, Data Platform is at the core a technologist with a broad skillset that brings enhanced value to the product development, and responsible in building key components of Change Healthcare’s Intelligent Healthcare Data Platform.
Responsibilities:
· This project is at an early stage and they need candidates to have hands-on coding experience with Scala.
· Designs, modifies, implements, tests, and provides operational support for enterprise software products and platforms, including software infrastructure and development tools for Data Platform components and modules in AWS-hosted environments
· Engages in building solutions leveraging technologies including but not limited to Scala, Spark, Hive and AWS services such as EC2, S3, EMR, ELB, Kinesis, SNS, Redshift, Data Pipelines
· Provides consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a top-level contributor
· Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals according to timelines and budgets agreed upon with business stakeholders
· Communicates proactively and effectively with team members and other project stakeholders in a highly Agile environment
Interview Process:
· “Scala Programming” IKM assessment with recruiter
· First round client Interview is a 30min Video Call with client manager. He goes through the three main technologies Spark, Scala and AWS.
· Second client interview is an hour hands-on coding call with Team Lead. This is a video call and the candidate will share their screens and show coding abilities. (Below are 4 subjects they go over)
o Join 4 tables using SQL
o Do outer join
o Read and explain what Scala code does
o How would you resolve a performance issue with Spark application?
· Lastly, they will have a “Welcome to the team” call with the Director of the team in San Mateo.
