Sameer is great, but we are looking for someone with a little more SQL and Bigdata skills.
His python and git experience is ok. I just wish he had a little more experience with SQL and big data (other than Hadoop) tech.
Bigdata tech to focus on= Redshift, Snowflake, Bigquery. Sameer had some experience, but the experience was not very deep.
Should have reporting experience in Tableau or Power BI
Description:
We are looking for a mid-level data engineer with good SQL but also has experience with python development and using version control. SQL scripts are stored in our github repo and released just like our python code. We have found that the learning curve is too steep for data engineers without git experience.
Job Description:
Design, develop, and implement data infrastructure and pipelines that collect, connect, centralize, and curate data from various internal and external data sources
Work closely with other members of the Data Lake team to deliver best-in-class data pipelines supporting key data initiatives for the data lake.
Work in close collaboration with your data-minded colleagues focused on Back End Service Development, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to ensure the data meets their needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with Cloud data warehousing or analytics systems such as Redshift/BigQuery/Snowflake/Elasticsearch.
2+ years of experience in designing and developing data pipelines in code rather than tools.
2+ year experience writing SQL queries and code using Python.
Experience with version control and code branching methodologies using git.
Experience with cloud services such as AWS/GCP/Azure.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and nontechnical audiences
